Matthew L. Cohen, M.D.


Matthew grew up in Arlington, Virginia and attended Reed College, earning a BA in Biology.

Matthew joined Radiology Associates of Richmond in 2004 and enjoys a dynamic practice of Diagnostic Radiology as well as Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Henrico Forest Hospital and as the Radiation Safety Officer of Henrico Retreat Hospital.

Medical Training

Matthew attended the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine, graduating in 1998. This was followed by a one year internship in internal medicine in Baltimore. During this residency, research was focused on renal perfusion imaging with novel MRI sequences which was presented at the annual meeting of the RSNA. Subspecialty training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology followed, also at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, completed in 2004. He received Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology in 2003 and his Certification of Advanced Qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology in 2005.

Matthew is a member of The American College of Radiology, The Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. The Radiologic Society of North America and the Medical Society of Virginia. He is licensed to practice in the states of Maryland and Virginia.

Personal Notes

Matthew and his wife Jackie have two children and live in Richmond, Virginia. They love to be out doors exploring nearby parks, bicycling, and in their back yard gardening.
